Customizing your display name

Whenever you post a new blog entry or comment on someone else’s blog entry while signed into QWriting, your name will appear along with what you write, as pictured below.

Display name in a post

By default, the name will be your user name.  You can change it to whatever you want: your first name, your first and last name, a pseudonym (though you should make sure that you check with your instructor before masking your true identity).

From the Dashboard, go to Users > Your Profile in the left sidebar menu (or click on your name near the word “Howdy” at the upper right corner of the Dashboard) to go to the Edit Profile page. You can also access Your Profile using the dropdown in the toolbar at the very top of the page.

On the Profile screen, scroll down to find the Name section. Fill in your first name, last name, and, if you’d like, a nickname. Then from the “Display name publicly as” dropdown, choose the name you’d like to appear as your author name. Be sure to click Update Profile at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
